It is no secret that diversity is not the strongest point of the aerospace industry. To discuss this topic, and highlight its importance, the VSV is organizing the yearly Aerospace Diversity Day, with workshops, speakers and panelists on dealing with diversity. This year's Aerospace Diversity Day is themed "Complementing each other". The day will not only be focused on gender diversity, but diversity in the broadest sense! Tickets for the main event, with speakers and panelists, can be found here. This part of the event will be held on Microsoft Teams.
The program will look as follows:
- 12:30 - 14:00: Workshop "Dealing with Diversity and Inclusivity" by YER
- 14:30 - 15:30: Workshop "Assertive Communication" by Deborah Ostreicher
- 15:30 - 17:15: Talks by Christine Darden (former NASA) and Michiel van Dorst (LVNL)
- 17:45 - 19:00: Panel discussion with Oana van der Togt (TNO), Jose Daenen (LVNL), Kay van der Made (Modis for ESA), Elly Domene (SES Networks), Julien van Campen (TU Delft), moderated by Julia Radius (TU Delft)
For those interested in further discussion with professionals on the topic of diversity and how to approach it, there will also be a network drink from 16:00 until 18:00 on Friday 4 December. The networking part of the event will be held on Remo, a separate online platform. The networking link will be sent in due time to everyone that registers for it.
