In this lunch lecture, Maartje van der Helm takes you on a short journey through the world of air traffic management, the organization she works for—LVNL—and how she tries to lead within it. She shares insights into the evolving ATM industry, the challenges and opportunities facing air navigation service providers, and how LVNL is responding through collaboration and innovation. Maartje van der Helm is the General Manager of Performance & Development at LVNL and a member of the Corporate Management Team. She works closely with partners such as airlines, Schiphol Airport, the Military Air Force Command, and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management to reduce noise pollution, fuel consumption, and CO₂ emissions.She is actively involved in the Airspace Redesign Program and drone integration in Dutch airspace. Maartje chairs the CANSO Operational Standing Committee Steering Group. She also chairs the Board of the Knowledge and Development Center (KDC) and serves on the Advisory Board of the Netherlands Aerospace Centre (NLR) and the advisory council of Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft. She holds an MBA from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Free lunch is included!
