Aerospace Women's Day - Be the game changer

The annual Aerospace Women's Day is coming up! The theme of the day is: "Be The Game Changer". 
Throughout the afternoon, you will be able to listen to 3 different speakers, and join one of the two workshops given by Accenture and NLR. The speakers will be announced soon!
An informal dinner is included as well as a networking event with representatives of different aerospace related companies. 
Join us on this interesting day where you can exchange experiences and advice, and be inspired!

“What Went Wrong with the Hubble Space Telescope, and How Did We Fix It?”

We all know the Hubble Space Telescope from the impressive images it makes of the Universe. The telescope was launched in 1990, but was not an immediate success.  In 1993 Professor Jeffrey A. Hoffman was one of the NASA astronauts who took part in the STS-61 mission during which the astronauts carried out repair work on the Hubble Space Telescope  during a number of space walks.

Multiple Day Excursion

During this academic year, the Aviation Department of the VSV ‘Leonardo da Vinci’ has organised a lot of interesting lunch lectures and excursions. The end of this academic year is approaching fast, and so is our biggest event of this year: the Multiple Day Excursion.

This year we will be going to England from the 8th until the 15th of July to visit leading companies in the Aerospace industry. We can already reveal that we will visit Rolls - Royce in Derby, Airbus Helicopters in Oxford, CAE in London Gatwick and some other interesting companies are still to be announced…

About the VSV

Established in 1945, the Society of Aerospace Students ‘Leonardo da Vinci’, has grown into a mature society. It organizes many activities for its members, more than 95% of all students at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering. Currently there are approximately 2300 members, making the Society of Aerospace Engineering Students the largest society of its kind in the Benelux. The Society aims to serve the interests of aerospace students in all aspects of student life. Since 1945, this has been achieved by organizing a wide variety of activities.
