After a graduate programme at Delft University of Technology, ir. Tineke van der Veen started her career as an Aerospace Engineering alumnus. With the obtained engineering title, she started as a manufacturing engineer in Rolls-Royce’s Management Graduate Programme. This followed in the function of programme manager for Research and Technology. In 2007, she started operating as production manager at the Dutch company Heineken. A year later, she returned to the aerospace industry within Fokker Technologies, now known as GKN Fokker. A range of management positions
brought her to the function of production line manager at the Fokker Projects. She pursued a short career at Airbus Defence and Space to later return to GKN Fokker as programme director for the Gulfstream. Her most recent function, since April 2017, is managing director Benelux and Nordics at Boeing.
Installed on the19th of December 2019, Mrs. van der Veen is the first-ever female to be installed as a Member of Honour of the VSV ‘Leonardo da Vinci’! She has never stopped showing her support and warm heart towards our society, regardless of the situation, ever since she started studying at the Faculty. Throughout the years, she assisted multiple Boards and advised several committees while preparing for their events. This was ever more present in 2019 when she guided the Aviation Department and chaired their Symposium.
With her experiences and sincere interest in others, she has been and still is, a big inspiration for the members of the VSV. Mrs. van der Veen is great at challenging others to make the best out of every situation and in stimulating them to think more critically and creatively. All of her help and support in the recent years has been invaluable for the VSV.
