Galileo is a new navigation system that is currently under development. The aim is to design a system providing a highly accurate global positioning for Europe and making sure Europe will be independent of other continentals, like the American GPS system. The total Galileo system will consist of 30 satellites, of which 4 are launched at this moment. Tuesday 18 March, Edward Breeuwer, Galileo System AIV Manager at ESA, will give a lunch lecture about Galileo. The lecture will take place in lecture room C at the Aerospace faculty.
