On the 11th of February, we are hosting a very special lunch lecture. The lecture will be given by our Member of Honour, Fred Abbink, who worked at NLR for more than 40 years of which he was general director for the last 5 years. Furthermore, he was part-time professor aircraft instrumentation at our faculty and fulfilled various positions at the AGARD, ICAS, EREA, DNW and ACARE. After his retirement he started his own aviation consultancy and is still active in multiple advisory boards. He also is Officer in the Order van Oranje Nassau, Honorary Fellow of the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), Honorary Fellow of ICAS, Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS), Fellow of the French Académie de l’Air et de l’Espace (AAE) and Honorary Member of the Polish Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics (PSAA). 

 

The lecture he will give, he has also given at the Royal Aeronautical Society in London and is titled 'How to get to Aviation Net-Zero CO2 in 2050'.
