When an aircraft is at the end of its life, what happens then? Derk-Jan van Heerden, CEO and founder of Aircraft End-Of-Life Solutions (AELS) and alumnus of our Aerospace Engineering faculty will tell you in the upcoming online lunch-lecture!

Instead of just parking it on an ‘aircraft graveyard’, AELS dismantles entire passenger aircraft like the Boeing 747 and recycles as many parts as possible, making the aviation industry more sustainable. So far, AELS has disassembled and dismantled 75 aircraft from airlines such as KLM, Lufthansa and Iberia – all here in the Netherlands.

You can register for free in the VSV ticketshop here! Please do it early so you don’t forget it! The online lunch-lecture will be organised in Microsoft Teams, in which you can ask your questions through the chat after the lecture. We hope to see many of you there during the lunch break next week Wednesday!
